Danny Tang, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Hero Esports, first revealed the initiative on the opening day of the LEAP conference during a main-stage panel titled "Esports as the Next Mass Media: Building a New Sport & Entertainment Sector." Tang was joined on stage by Rawan Al-Butairi, CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation, and Niccolo Maisto, CEO of ESL FACEIT Group, in a discussion moderated by Mo Islam, founder and host of The Mo Show.

EngineAI T800 Humanoid Robots Specs & Combat Details

According to reports followed by Nedae Al-Watan, the debut CyberHero x Riyadh event will feature ten EngineAI T800 humanoid robots, developed by Shenzhen-based robotics firm EngineAI, competing live inside a custom-built combat ring. Additional robots from other leading global robotics brands are also expected to participate.

Standing 1.73 meters tall and weighing between 75 and 85 kilograms, the T800 closely mirrors the size of an adult human. Equipped with 29 movable joints, it can walk, run, punch, kick, spin, and recover after falls. These dynamic capabilities will be tested in live combat scenarios on September 9 to showcase motion control, balance, reaction speed, and fighting strategy with an upgraded combat package.

Event Schedule and Global Expansion Vision

We chose Riyadh to launch because it is an iconic city bridging East and West—a natural destination to host the first CyberHero event where global technology, talent, and ideas converge."

The two-hour event will blend robotic competitions with music, lighting, and immersive live entertainment, featuring a performance by a rising international DJ. CyberHero x Riyadh will take place on September 9, 2026, at 9:00 PM (9/9 at 9:00) at a Riyadh location to be announced soon, with doors opening at 8:30 PM. Riyadh marks the first in a planned series of CyberHero events across major cities worldwide.

Bridging Saudi Arabia and China via CyberHero Student Program

Alongside the main event, Hero Esports is launching the CyberHero Student Program to foster connections between young talent and the robotics ecosystems of Saudi Arabia and China. In its initial phase, the program will offer up to 30 Saudi students the opportunity to visit three Chinese cities to explore the rapidly evolving Physical AI and robotics industries first-hand.
